About

Laguna Beach, California, has long been a muse for artists and dreamers. In 2016, Robert Brink founded The Hundredth Acre Candles. His vision was simple: to use scent as a bridge to memory, evoking cherished experiences and sparking a sense of nostalgia.

Fast forward to 2021. Laguna local Kirsten Montgomery, newly single and seeking a fresh start, found solace in the flickering flames of candles. The fragrant whispers of each burning wick unearthed a kaleidoscope of memories, pushing her towards introspection and a yearning for a brighter future. It was a turning point. Realizing what she truly needed was "light," both metaphorical and literal, Kirsten seized the opportunity offered to her to take over The Hundredth Acre.

Kiki's journey has been one of growth, acceptance, and willingness, a testament to  resilience, a phoenix rising from the ashes, reborn and transformed. The Hundredth Acre Candles represent a pursuit of peace, a return to the simple joys that nourished Laguna's bohemian spirit. Each flickering flame whispers a promise: to ignite cherished memories, spark joy, and celebrate new beginnings.

Though deeply rooted in the heart of Laguna Beach, Kiki's journey has brought her full circle to her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Here, amidst familiar streets and cherished childhood memories, she continues to nurture the spirit of Hundredth Acre. These childhood memories, infused with the magic of Laguna Beach, fuel her creativity and keep The Hundredth Acre flame burning bright.

In 2024, a decision was made to take a brief hiatus to embark on a rebranding and refresh campaign. We feel that The Hundredth Acre is more than a candle company; it's a journey back to peace and simplicity. Our candles are meticulously crafted to evoke cherished memories and transport you to moments of quiet beauty. We believe in the power of scent and visual storytelling to inspire reflection and renewal. And with this we hope to touch as many humans as we possibly can.

With love. Kiki
