Caring for a candle ensures it burns safely, lasts longer, and performs beautifully. Here are some tips:

  • Trim the Wick: Always trim the wick to 1/4 inch before lighting to prevent soot, uneven burning, and large flames.
  • Burn Evenly: Allow the wax to melt across the entire surface during the first burn to prevent tunneling.
  • Avoid Drafts: Keep candles away from fans, vents, or breezes to prevent uneven burning and excessive smoke.
  • Use a Candle Snuffer: Extinguish the flame with a snuffer instead of blowing it out to minimize smoke and prevent wax splatter.
  • Relight Carefully: Ensure the wick is centered and upright before relighting.
  • Burn Time Limits: Do not burn for more than 3-4 hours at a time to avoid overheating the container.
  • Proper Storage: Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading or warping.
  • Safety First: Keep candles out of reach of children and pets, and never leave them unattended while burning.
